  • Is Abstra free of use?
Our purpose is to make research accessible for all, so Abstra is naturally free of use.
  • Who can post articles on Abstra?
Only researchers can post articles. To ensure authenticity of work and author, we require from all researchers to log in throught their ORCID account. This enables us to make sure that there are no false information. Moreover, logging in through ORCID loads all your publications details (co-authors, institutions, journal, funding etc...) and allows you to avoid spending time filling details when you post. You can easily create an ORCID account and link register your papers here: https://orcid.org/register
  • What about co-authors of a publication?
When possible (if they also have an ORCID account), your co-authors will be informed via email that you have a posted an Abstra on our platform.
  • What about copyright to journals?
Our summarization algorithm is generative and aims at paraphrasing the original publication in simplified terms - anything can be modified by the researcher before posting to avoid copyright infrigement. We do not host full publications (as they are copyrighted) on our platform, but only simplified summaries free of rights. However, the summaries always point to the original publication link for reference to any interested user. Abstra is a platform where researchers freely post summaries of their work, we are not a publishing website and do not take any responsibility in copyright violation.
  • I would like to get involved in the project.
Fantastic! Do not hesitate to get in touch with us, either by using the contact form, or by contacting us through social media.
  • How are summaries (Abstras) structured?
Yes, a summary (called Abstra) is structured similarly to most paper around 3 distinct sections: Background, Findings and Methods (each is 150 words maximum). This is to minimze the work needed from the researcher in writing the Abstra, as well as the effort needed from readers to obtain the needed information.
  • For kind of public are the Abstras written for?
Abstras should be written in a way where anyone with a high school education can understand. However, the researcher is free to make it more or less precise/technichal depending on what kind of audience they would like to reach.
  • Are researchers allowed to post arXiv papers?
As arXiv publications are not peer-reviewed, posting arXiv summaries is not allowed on Abstra.
